Hungarian Camerawoman Fired After Allegedly Kicking a Group of Asylum Seekers

A camerawoman for a Hungarian television station has been fired after being caught kicking a group of asylum seekers on camera.

ABC report that the incident took place on Tuesday as the group were seen running from a line of police in Roszke, southern Hungary.

Footage shows the camerawoman – later identified as Petra Laszlo – appearing to intentionally trip a man running with a child in his arms.

In a later part of the footage, Laszlo kicks two women at separate times.

According to ABC, when the footage emerged on Internet-based TV station N1TV, the editor-in-chief of the station, which is close to Hungary's far-right Jobbik party, released a statement regarding the employee's actions.

"An N1TV colleague today behaved in an unacceptable way at the Roszke collection point," Szabolcs Kisberk said in the statement on Facebook. "The camerawoman's employment contract has been terminated with immediate effect as of today, consider the matter closed."
