Ten Worst Attacks On People With Confederate Flags

All of these crimes took place in July or August of 2015. Many media outlets and left-leaning political groups are engaged in inciting hatred against people with Confederate flags. This has led to a rash of violent hate crimes. There is also a nationwide campaign of racially charged vandalism targeting Confederate and other historical monuments.

1) Anthony Hervey, a high-profile black Confederate flag supporter, died when his car was forced off of the highway near Oxford, MS. His passenger, who survived, says they were purposefully run off the road by a carload of young black males. The perps were screaming insults as their car repeatedly lunged at the car Hervey was driving.

2) Two black males invaded a home in Columbus, Ohio that had a Confederate flag on the porch. Five members of the family were hospitalized as they fought for their lives. A female victim was shot in the neck, while male victims were beaten and stabbed. The attack ended when one of the perps was shot and killed. The second perp was captured by police.

3) A white male in South Bend, IN was shot twice because he had a Confederate flag on his truck. Three black males screamed racial abuse and then opened fire. The victim was hit in the cheek and the back.

4) North Carolina couple shot at for having a Confederate flag on their truck. A white couple in Gastonia, NC was inside their truck in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Their truck has a Confederate flag on it. Three black males fired about six shots. One went through the window of a nearby house. Other bullets hit the truck only narrowly missing the victims.

5) Georgia couple shot at for having an old Georgia State flag in the yard. A white couple in Gwinnet County, GA were in their front yard getting ready for a yard sale. A car drove by slow and someone yelled an insult about an Old Georgia State flag in their yard. The flag contains the Confederate flag. Then a black male stuck a gun out the window and fired a shot at them.

6) Woman attacked, home invaded in Racine, WI. A white female was attacked on her front porch by a black male. The perpetrator then invaded her home and removed a Confederate flag decoration in a window.

7) Drive-by shooting in Bessemer, AL. Two black males drove by a home with a Confederate flag. They slowed down and one of them fired three shots into the house.

8) Man beaten by mob in Rochester, MN. A white man was attacked and pummeled by a group of Somali refugees. They targeted the man because his young niece was wearing a baseball cap with a Confederate flag.

9) Mob attacks multiple people in Myrtle Beach, SC. Following a Confederate flag rally, a man was attacked over a Confederate flag decoration on his truck. The victim fled into a Haunted House attraction. When employees tried to protect the victim, they were also attacked.

10) Shots fired near convoy heading to Confederate flag rally in Stone Mountain, GA. A black male fired shots as a white family of five went by him in a truck decorated with Confederate flags.
