Borders, Race, Ethnicity and Migration Network (BREM)

• What is the social, cultural and political significance of different historical and contemporary migrations?
• In what ways are contemporary bordering or boundary-producing practices changing?
• How does race or ethnicity feature in the formation of identities and diverse societies?
• To what extent do processes of racialization shape regulations and differentiated experiences across sites such as the workplace?

These are just some of the questions that the Borders, Race, Ethnicity and Migration network collectively addresses.

BREM is a cross-disciplinary group of researchers at the University of Warwick. The aim of the network is to promote interdisciplinary dialogue across the intersecting themes of borders, race, ethnicity and migration, broadly defined.

BREM serves as an open forum for sharing research, developing new and existing collaborations and supporting graduate students and early career researchers.

The network runs a lecture series and provides opportunities for information sharing and collective research activities.
